Dr. Steve Holland
Welcome to my home page!
I am a professor at Iowa State University in the Department of Aerospace Engineering.
I specialize in thermographic methods for nondestructive testing of materials.
I am a 2002 Ph.D. graduate of Theoretical and Applied
Mechanics a 1997 B.S. graduate of Electrical Engineering, both at Cornell University.
I am a native of Wayland, Massachusetts, a western suburb of Boston.
Projects
Since 2005 I have been building the thermography research program
at the Center for Nondestructive Evaluation
- Vibrothermographic (Sonic IR) nondestructive testing (research group).
- Dataguzzler -- A laboratory data acquisition platform for high-performance waveform and image acquisition
- Air-coupled ultrasonic measurement
- Locating leaks in spacecraft
- AviaScene -- A virtual environment for remote exploration (Open source!)
- Aglaophone -- A system for real time
analysis and manipulation of audio. (Open source!)
- VeryNice -- Automatic process
renicer for UNIX/Linux (Open source!)
You might also be interested in my little Python "Spacewar" game or dynamic web photo album generator. They both require a Python interpreter.
